The opioid crisis is the most deadly drug crisis in American history. According to the W.H.O., in 2015, roughly two percent of deaths — 1 in 50 — in the United States were drug-related. How did we get here and what can be done in the year ahead to get a handle on this problem that is ravaging huge swaths of the population? Dr. Anna Lembke, chief of addiction medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and author of Drug Dealer, MD will explain the roots of this health crisis, the economic impact and how a generation of lives have changed due to this epidemic.
